A Few Moments With: Repeat Piece // Interview #8

Have you ever come across a blog and instantly loved the outfits and style?  Well that happened when I came across Rabia's blog Repeat Piece a couple of months ago and just thought 'I want her wardrobe!'  As much as I love following a wide range of bloggers with their own unique styles and admire them for that, it's always nice to come across a blogger who's wardrobe you would genuinely love to have a little rummage through.  From layering to stacking jewelry and dashes of colour, Rabia's style is effortless and chill - the perfect combination for any outfit!  To find out more I decided to ask her some questions on her blog, style tips and ultimate blogger inspirations.

Hello Rabia! Could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hi! I'm Rabia, 22 years old and living in London. Right now I am in my final year of uni (eek!) and in the future I would love to work as a womenswear buyer (haha this is sounding like a job interview...)

How and why did you first get into blogging?
I think it was back in 2009 that I somehow stumbled upon Chictopia and through that I was introduced to tonnes of different fashion blogs and became hooked, Sea of Shoes and Lulu and Your Mom were the oldest ones I remember reading! I never considered blogging myself until the start of last year when my best friend wouldn't stop going on about it, and then when I bought my SLR camera for a photography module at uni, I thought why the hell not! I wear clothes... might as well share them!

Your blog is called Repeat Piece, so, what is your most worn item of clothing in your wardrobe?
I went back to browse through my blog for this one! My most worn item changes every season, but for the past few months I've been wearing my River Island black skirt with a cross over detail a lot. It's just so easy to style and really comfortable, a real staple. And it has pockets! (If you read my blog, you know how important pockets are!)

I'm in love with your style at the moment! Who's style are you currently loving too?
Thank you so much! I really love Rachel Zoe and Olivia Palermo style. They both always look very chic and polished and they accessorise so well; I really want to know how they store all their jewellery! Also Danielle Bernstein from WeWoreWhat is one of my favourite bloggers - simple yet so stylish, I stalk her instagram all the time for some inspiration.

What S/S '14 trends are you looking forward to trying out this year?
I'm not a massive trend follower because you never know if it'll still be 'trendy' next season. If I like something and its on-trend then great! If not I'll still buy it regardless, but I'm looking forward to lots of lace blouses, floaty chiffon kimonos and slouchy off the shoulder tops!

What's your top tip to make an outfit look more interesting?
Accessories! They can make a plain outfit so much more interesting. Layer those necklaces and stack those rings - more is more! Also, a bold lip always makes a statement.

Where do you get your inspiration from?
Anything and everything! I especially love street style blogs, The Sartorialist is one that I browse almost daily.

You're off sight-seeing in London this weekend! What would you wear?
I always check the weather before leaving my house, especially with the unpredictable weather we have in London! My go-to outfit for a long day out would be black skinny jeans, a collared blouse layered under a jumper, and a fur gilet on top. Topped off with some black boots, a few stacked rings and a brolly.

Thank you! Where else can we find you?
No problem, thanks for having me! You can find me on Instagram, Twitter and of course my Blog.

Don't let doubt ever have its day // OOTD

'I do not trust people who don't love themselves and yet tell me 'I love you.'

Dress; ASOS // Coat; Urban Outfitters* // Cardi & shoes; Primark // Necklace; H&M // Rings; H&M + Topshop

Last Sunday I met up with Gavina for a walk round Uni Park and Highfields and erm it was bladdy cold! But we managed to take some outfit photo's before finding some warmth. This is another ASOS purchase (yep, I'm becoming obsessed with them) and it's the same as the dress in this post, just quarter length and a different colour. I think it would look better without the tights but I'll have to wait for Summer to get here before trying that out I think! I do love the colour though and it's so easy to wear and I don't have to worry about it being too short - I keep having this issue with dresses being waaaay too short for me because I'm too tall even though I'm not really that tall but let's not get into that because I could complain forever ha!

Photo's are courtesy of Gavina, check out more of her work HERE!

Sammi Maria // Current Girl Crush

I thought I would bring back my Current Girl Crush feature as I've kind of neglected it for a while now. Plus I just wanted to share my current love for Blogger and Youtuber Sammi (aka BeautyCrush) as I've been loving her blog and videos so much at the moment.  She was one of the first Youtubers I subscribed to waaaay back in uni and always find her tutorials/reviews not only lovely to watch but genuinely helpful as I'm completely clueless when it comes to make-up so it's nice to be able to trust someone's product reviews and recommendations!

I'm also seriously in love with her style; effortless, classy and playful with the most chill and relaxed vibe going on like 'yeah I just threw this on... no biggie' and her recent August,  October and Date Night Lookbooks show this perfectly.

4 ways to wear: Galaxy Print Smock Dress

"Your life. Love it.
From the hurt to the wonder. From the bone to the flower.
Love it. With everything you've got.
It’s yours." - Nayyirah Waheed

In one of my last posts I talked about experimenting a bit with my outfit posts and doing a couple of '3 ways to wear' / Lookbook-style posts and so this is the first of three that I've planned for the next month or so.

The dress itself is from ASOS and I just fell in love with the print when I was browsing through the sale. Intergalactic print is not something you see usually on items of clothing so it makes the dress a bit more quirky.  As it's a smock dress I figured it'd be quite versatile too.  So obviously you can wear it on it's own or with a blazer or cardi. I opted for a cardi to keep the relaxed/chilled vibe it has which would be great for a lazy day in the sun (oh summer, hurry up man!). The last two looks are quite relaxed too but incorporates layering to the outfit which I'm always a fan of.  The crop top allows you to see enough of the dress and is a great way to wear a crop top without showing off some belly if you don't want to.  Finally, the black skirt smartens it up a bit I think and would look even better with a blazer and a pair of black heels and could be worn to work depending on how relaxed your work dress code is.

Let me know what you guys think about this post and if you like or hate it! Also, what other ways would you wear a smock dress? I'd love to know!

Also! I've recently been featured on the Blogger's Lounge website and interviewed by Dirty Looks about hair care, hair crushes and DIY hair makeovers so make sure to check that out too here!
